2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid 4-Door Sedan review

Unchanged from 2008, the 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid offers a superior 2.4L 4-cylinder hybrid engine that generates a net 187hp and 138lb-ft of torque. The aerodynamic lines and stylish multi-reflector halogen headlights make the 5-passenger 4-door sedan one of the most desirable hybrids on the market. Driving the Camry Hybrid enlivens the senses with the well-insulated, nearly silent motor and the cockpit protected from heat and noise by a special windshield glass.

Thanks to its Hybrid Synergy Drive, the Camry is rated as an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) while it boasts of praiseworthy fuel economy (33mpg city 34mpg highway). Although the Camry Hybrid comes in only one trim, there are abundant options you can add that go a long way in creating your own individual Camry. Consider switching to the 16" 7-spoke alloy wheels and a special color-keyed rear spoiler: that's a very attractive look. Camry has a romantic side with its sliding moonroof and optional leather-trimmed seats.

A high level of attention has been given to equipping the Hybrid with the most advanced and effective safety features available. Camry's airbag system includes, driver and front passenger front airbags, side airbags, and side curtain airbags. With the Hybrid's Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, Toyota has almost achieved braking by thought. The very essence of the sedan has been engineered with safety, by including side impact door beams and crumple zones to prevent intrusion into the passenger cabin during a collision.

The manufacturer has succeeded in combining the tried and true quality and safety inherent in the Camry with admirable fuel economy in the 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
